Spotlight Update: Karo Ku in Orange County, California
July 17, 2024/
Karo Ku is known as “the guy who loves coffee and Jesus.” However, his love for coffee is not for obvious reasons. He posted online recently, “It might sound funny, but I don’t love coffee just because of its taste. I love coffee because I know deep and genuine relationships with Jesus and others can be built over a delicious cup of coffee.” Karo is passionate about coffee beans, roasting, and preparation, but that doesn’t compare to his passion for the gospel.
Karo’s dream of opening a coffee house church halted with the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Instead of quitting, he found another way to serve God, people, and coffee using a mobile coffee stand at church plants and working as a church planting catalyst with the North American Mission Board’s Send Network Los Angeles.
Karo believes this coffee ministry, known as Overflowing Ministries, is a strategic plan for the global mission as he serves in the highly diverse Greater Los Angeles area.
Karo wrote, “I know this is God’s calling for my life, and I will do whatever it takes to plant churches everywhere for everyone.”
