Archives The Archives is the official repository for our corporate records and preserves the history of our organization. Stored in a temperature and humidity controlled vault are the official minutes and records of WMU's Executive Board meetings, products and periodicals published by WMU, and artifacts from countries where Southern Baptist missionaries have served. The original constitution written at the 1888 organizational meeting of Woman’s Missionary Union is just one of our treasured possessions. Correspondence, notebooks, personal effects, and photographs of Lottie Moon, missionary to China, and Annie Armstrong, WMU corresponding secretary from 1888 to 1906, are also housed in the archives. Memoirs from Southern Baptist missionaries are preserved in several manuscript collections. Researchers interested in WMU history, SBC history, Baptist State Convention history, and women’s religious history may find valuable primary sources in the archives holdings. The Archives is open each week on a part-time basis. Researchers should schedule an appointment with the archivist to use archival collections.
