A religious man spent 12 years searching for someone to tell him about Jesus. When this former monk met Stephen Allwood, he realized he had finally found a person who could.

Stephen gratefully recounted how God connected him to this man and allowed him to be a part of his life, to see him come to faith in Christ, and to watch him grow. “Fifteen years later,” Stephen said, “he is thriving, doing great, and serving his people.”

Stephen and his wife, Lyn, praise the Lord for testimonies like this! After living in the mountains of South Asia for more than 2 decades, they have learned to trust God’s timing in salvation, realizing it may be years before seeing any visible evidence of His work. But even so, their goal is to come alongside local believers, like this man, in discipleship and ministry training.

“Our aim is not to be the center. Sometimes it means taking a back seat and being quiet and then releasing locals to do the ministry,” Stephen shared.

Pray for continued perseverance, patience, and faithfulness as Stephen and Lyn invest in local partners and churches, encouraging and equipping these brothers and sisters in the work of advancing God’s kingdom.
