International Mission Board missionaries Josh and Jessica Cobb have returned to London after a 6-month sabbatical stateside. The joy of sharing the gospel and witnessing God’s power to set people who are living with mental health challenges and addictions free summons them to service.

People attend Jessica’s fitness class and stay for tea and cake as she addresses mental health while weaving in the gospel. Josh facilitates Trauma Healing Institute (American Bible Society) coursework to help people understand trauma, process grief, surrender pain to God, and comprehend forgiveness.

Basic counseling skills training helped a woman on the Cobbs’ church’s prayer team understand the impact of trauma, improve listening skills, and empathetically care for survivors when praying for them. The mother of the young woman mentioned in the spring issue of Missions Mosaic thanked Josh for the incredible change her daughter has made with his help.

 

Prayer Requests

• Therapy is expensive and waitlists are long. Pray people would become co-laborers with the Trauma Healing Institute.
• Ask God to give the Cobbs wisdom to set boundaries for work, family, and self-care, and provide peace as they battle homesickness.
• Pray clients would meet the God who sees their pain (Psalm 56:8) and encounter Jesus, who weeps with them as He did with Mary (John 11:32–35).
