“We needed some way to challenge the people in Rosebud,” Nettie said. “I prayed for a theme, and at 4 a.m. one morning God gave it to me: ‘Rosebud Come Alive for OCC in 2005.’ ” Hyde approached her pastor with the idea of turning First Baptist into a collection point so people would not have to travel to Temple to drop off their boxes. He liked the idea and suggested they set up a center the next year.
