Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Don’t worry about anything but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:4–7, CSB)

Periodically some creative person designs an object to help manage stress. It might be a piece of cloth with a soft texture and the promise, “Rub this gently over your hands and face, and you will begin relaxing immediately!” Or it might be a soft rubber ball to squeeze. Or a weighted blanket to cover yourself.

Trusting all of our lives to the Lord Jesus is the only true answer for our worries. Trusting Him with our lives eases our concerns and calms our fears, not just as a psychological exercise, but also as a powerful reminder that Jesus knows us, loves us, and is committed to us.

How are you trusting Him today?

Dear Father, we know that You may not always respond in the way we expect, but we know You always answer our prayer. Help our pastors and missionaries trust you with every aspect of their lives. Show them that they can rest in You, knowing Your care is born of infinite, eternal love and wisdom. Guide them to come to you with gratitude and thanksgiving, while lifting their uncertain lives up to Jesus. After all, He is LORD! As they relinquish all of their lives to you in hope and trust, bring to them Your peace, the peace which passes all understanding. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.
