The past events have indeed happened.
Now I declare new events;
I announce them to you before they occur.

Sing a new song to the Lord;
sing his praise from the ends of the earth,
you who go down to the sea with all that fills it,
you coasts and islands with your inhabitants.

(Isaiah 42:9-10, CSB)

Praise is a powerful tool of transformation. How often have you had a challenging day or a trying moment, but you’ve chosen to sing to the Lord a new song? Immediately, new scenery abounds. Your attitude changes; your mindset is transformed; and in the blink of an eye, a refreshing day has dawned, all because of praise!

Worship is much more than a component of a Sunday morning service. Worship breathes life, and worship is a way of life—an attitude of the heart. Worship can occur in a sunset, a chorus of bluebirds, and a baby’s cry.

When we sing a new song, express gratitude, kneel in prayer, or acknowledge creation, we are worshipping the One Who makes all things new.

Dear Father, we pray today that in the midst of one crisis after another and the continual flow of anxiety-provoking news, our pastors and missionaries will find times of respite— time to worship You. In this worship, we pray they will experience the joy brought by deeper communion with You. May they experience the truth of your promise that the joy of the Lord is our strength. May these moments of focused praise embolden their spirits and enable them to minister more fully in Your name. Amen.
