Step into one of the most vibrant ministry environments in the world with this dynamic curriculum unit featuring Andrew Mann, founding director and pastor of Graffiti 2 Community Ministries and Graffiti 2 Baptist Church. Alongside his wife, JoAnn — who leads the children’s ministry — Andrew opens a window into the rhythms, challenges, and joys of serving in the South Bronx.

A Virtual Journey into Real-World Ministry

A Challenge from the Good Samaritan
Through the parable of the Good Samaritan, Andrew offers a compelling call to slow down, see the people around us, and choose mercy over busyness. His teaching helps students connect Scripture to everyday opportunities for kindness and service.

The “Upside Down” Approach
At Graffiti 2, ministry begins outside the church walls. By meeting practical needs first and then inviting people into deeper spiritual connection, Andrew models what he calls an “Upside Down” strategy — one that turns traditional ministry on its head and transforms lives in the process.

Involve your teenagers in ongoing missions discipleship and empower them to discover their own roles as disciples of Jesus who live on mission. Through each unit of Missions Journey: Students, teens will meet missions personnel serving all around the world, be encouraged to grow in discipleship, and become active agents of gospel change in their own communities.

This fully-digital resource contains plans for four weekly sessions, including links to the missions videos, missions project ideas, supplemental activities, prayer activities, and a leader devotion.

This material is designed for students in grades 7–12. WMU recommends adult leaders preview all lesson and video content before sharing it with their students.
