Invite families of preschoolers to a summer Mission Friends show and tell enrollment event. Families can experience the same fun that preschoolers have at Mission Friends, learn what preschoolers do at Mission Friends, and enroll their preschoolers to be a Mission Friend! 

EMBRACE the Summer Vibe 

Note: All numbered items are from Mission Friends Digital Package. 

• Use your church fellowship hall or multi-purpose room for your event. 
• Hang summery colored streamers and balloons from the ceiling. 
• Use graphics from the Mission Friends Digital Package to create summery invitations to give to families at your church. 
• Print out the Mission Friends Banner (item 10) to use as a sign for your welcome table. 
• Print Mission Friends Name Tags (item 8) on computer labels for families to wear as they get to know each other. 
• Make the Mission Friends Photo Props (item 17) and arrange a photo area for preschoolers and their families to snap selfies. 

 

MAKE a Summer Swag Bag 

• Use graphics from the Mission Friends Digital Package to create tote bags (one per family). Include a summertime graphic such as sunglasses, suitcase, passport, or camera. These can be found in Mission Friends Photo Props (item 17). 
• To each tote, add information about your Mission Friends meeting details, a copy of the monthly Play and Learn, and a copy of the Families on Mission article (Mission Friends Leader, page 4). 

 

SHOW the Preschool Fun 

• Set up an activity from each interest area in the meeting space. Use activities from the current month to show the fun preschoolers have in Mission Friends. For example, for the Blocks interest area activity, set out blocks and toy horses for preschoolers to build a rodeo arena as they learn about Cody Cowboy Church in Wyoming. 
• Invite preschoolers and their families to try the activities. Visit with preschoolers and families as they enjoy Mission Friends fun. 

 

TELL Families about Mission Friends 

• Arrange a table to display curriculum used for Mission Friends. Show Mission Friends Leader beside the CSB Read-to-Me Bible. 
• Display pictures from the Mission Friends Leader Kit.
• Set out several of the prepared Mission Friends Leader Kit items for parents to peruse. 
• Display the three concept areas posters for the summer quarter: Church, God’s Creation, and Self (item 24). 
• Use the Mission Friends curriculum to show and tell families what Mission Friends is about. Answer any questions parents may have. 

 

Share, Pray, and Enroll 

• Invite preschoolers and their families to come together. Share about the missionary, missions area, and Christian concept area of the month. 
• Say a short prayer for the missionaries. 
• Serve a simple snack related to the missions area of the month, such as wagon wheels (round crackers and cheese). 
• Give each family a tote bag. Invite parents to enroll their preschooler in Mission Friends!
