Joy in Loving Preschoolers
His little three-year-old face exuded joy! With eyes so bright and the biggest smile, this preschooler’s face glowed with joy. He even jumped up and down in excitement. What a joy it is to be with preschoolers and teach them in Mission Friends. We are compelled by love to share with preschoolers about Jesus and God’s love for them.
Another preschooler was not quite sure of himself. In his short life, he had already gone through traumatic experiences and was now in the care of his grandparents. He was timid about getting to know others. What joy there was when he began to feel comfortable with us as his Mission Friends leaders at church. We are compelled by love to share of God’s care for him.
She cried the first few weeks at the beginning of Mission Friends as she had never been away from her mother. By October, she came in the room without any tears. She started to tiptoe her fingers through the paint in the art area and we heard a giggle once in a while. What joy when preschoolers are engaged in activities to learn about missions. We are compelled by love to share with her about God’s love for all people.
We have joy in sharing Jesus’ love with preschoolers. The first words of 1 Thessalonians 2:8 tell our motivation for sharing Christ’s love with the preschoolers in our care: “Because we loved you so much” (NIV). Our love for preschoolers compels us to share with them how God loves them, He loves all people, and He wants us to tell others of His love.
Consider the preschoolers in your Mission Friends group and the needs of each one. What joy to love each preschooler and share Jesus’ love with them.
Pray:
Loving Father, thank You for the little ones in my care in Mission Friends. Help me to see the needs of each one to hear about Your great love. May Your love compel me to share this love with preschoolers and their families. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
