Every builder needs a toolbox. As you build a team to serve as Mission Friends leaders, develop your own toolbox for inviting persons to lead Mission Friends.
Nuts and Bolts
Follow these tips in bringing on new Mission Friends leaders.
Pray for God to lead you to those who have a heart for missions and a passion for preschoolers.
Follow your church’s guidelines for securing new leaders. Follow the church’s practices for background checks, safety, and security training.
Identify people to serve. Ask other missions leaders to brainstorm with you.
Ask personally for the person to serve. Let the person know how she or he will be making a difference through leading Mission Friends.
Give information about the ages and approximate number of preschoolers in the Mission Friends group, who will be leading with them, responsibilities, and preparation time.
Invite a potential new leader to visit or help in a Mission Friends class.
Offer support by directing the potential leader to training resources from your state WMU, local Baptist association, or How to Lead Mission Friends at wmu.com/howtoleadpreschool.
