Spotlight Update: Will Murphy in Florida

Will Murphy, fire chaplain with Largo Fire Rescue in Seminole, Florida, praises God as two new chaplains, retired first responders Dan and John, join the chaplaincy ministry, enriching its mission. As they visit fire stations, the chaplains encourage firefighters to consider joining the chaplaincy to ensure its future.

Will is actively recruiting new chaplains and has collaborated with fire chaplains in Pinellas County. He recently shared his vision with first responders at First Baptist Church of Brooksville. His efforts aim to ignite support and attract new members to the ministry.

Community support and appreciation were evident during the holidays as church members baked cookies for firefighters. On Christmas Day, the new chaplain Dan and his wife shared with firefighters, highlighting the local churches’ dedication to first responders. In a challenging year marked by hurricanes, compassionate community members provided meals for first responders, supported by local chaplains and the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team’s law enforcement chaplains, offering gratitude and fellowship.

Firefighters remain a largely unreached group. Pray for the growth of chaplaincy ministry and the health and spiritual well-being of firefighters and their families.
