Spotlight Update: Week of Prayer for North American Missions 2023

Each March, the North American Mission Board (NAMB) observes the Week of Prayer for North American Missions. This year, the week of prayer is March 5–12, 2023, but your church can utilize the resources, found at anniearmstrong.com/week-of-prayer and wmu.com/annie, any time of the year.

Missionaries are selected each year to give you one-of-a-kind testimonies of real people engaged in missions throughout North America, showcasing what your contributions to NAMB and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering support. These missionaries are highlighted in the March issue of Missions Mosaic, and we wanted to give you an update on one of the former featured missionaries.

Over the last year, Amer Safadi has been on a mission to plant disciple-making, Arabic-speaking churches that are in communication with one another as they mentor the next generation of Arab church planters in America.

Because of Amer’s hard work and partnerships, he has successfully just planted the first Arabic-speaking church in northern Kentucky’s history. And soon, he and his family will have had a hand in planting new congregations in Nashville, Tennessee; Phoenix, Arizona; Columbus, Ohio; Cleveland, Ohio; Dayton, Tennessee; and Toledo, Ohio; as well as in South Carolina.

Amer said, “God called me from Jordan, and I have a vision to plant healthy, multiplication-focused Arabic churches in every city and every state. You helped me build a great network! I so appreciate you all. Your prayers have been a huge part of our Lord’s movement among the Arab and Muslim communities!”

Pray for Amer and his wife, Vicky, as they pour into Middle Eastern communities in major metropolises across the United States.
