Pure Water, Pure Love has a three-fold mission: to supply missionaries with water filters, to provide the people they serve with wells that offer clean water and to supply missions teams with water filters for use on short-term missions trips.
Throughout the world, people are at constant risk of contracting a disease or parasites from their water. Many are forced to carry heavy jugs of water for miles just to be sure their families have clean, healthy water. For others, the prospect of clean water is simply non-existent.
WorldCrafts, a compassion ministry of national WMU, develops sustainable fair-trade businesses among impoverished people around the world. Its vision is to offer an income with dignity and the hope of everlasting life to every person on earth.
Through involvement with WorldCrafts you can help change the lives of poverty-stricken and exploited men and women around the world.
According to the World Health Organization, after being in steady decline over the past ten years, global hunger is now on the rise again. Global war and natural disasters have brought the number of people living in hunger to more than 815 million, approximately 11 percent of the global population.
What’s Your Role in Global Hunger Relief?
- Pray. Pray for global hunger relief and for missionaries and others around the world who work daily to prevent hunger and malnutrition. Pray for those who live with food insecurity. Pray for rain and for abundant harvests for those experiencing drought and the aftereffects of natural disasters.
- Give. Encourage your church to participate in Global Hunger Sunday; 100 percent of your donations to Global Hunger Relief goes directly toward meeting hunger needs.
- Go. Host a global hunger event for your church and community. Together you can discover the issues related to world hunger and explore how your faith community can engage in hunger relief. Then—engage!
