Leading Adults
Missions discipleship empowers adults to become more effective witnesses in their world. When adults explore current missions efforts around the world, delve into the biblical mandate for missions, and become personally involved, they clearly see their responsibility to take the gospel to the nations. Understanding the ways adults learn can help a leader be more intentional about helping adults experience every aspect of missions discipleship.
Missions Discipleship for Adults
WMU offers three options for adult missions discipleship to meet the needs in your church. Women on Mission is the WMU missions discipleship group designed for women over 18 years old. Adults on Mission is a coed organization for women and men over 18 years old. myMISSION is the missions discipleship group for young women ages 18–34.
Through missions discipleship, adults engage in growth experiences that help them develop the four characteristics of a missional disciple:
- Learn about missions
- Pray for missions
- Support missions
- Do missions and tell about Jesus
