Did you know that more than 1 million Muslims live and work in greater Paris? In fact, Muslims outnumber practicing Protestants and Catholics combined!
Many of these Muslims are indigenous to countries void of a Christian influence. Having moved to a foreign country, they often find themselves living in large multi-family housing complexes, estranged from much of Paris society. As you walk the streets, you can see the many ways these people remain in contact with their own culture and families at home. Because of these connections, Paris is a gateway city to much of the world. A strong Christian impact here would resonate in many countries!
WMU® is partnering with Team Paris to impact this area for Christ and to share the message that God wants to know everyone personally. Over the past two years, volunteers have assisted in prayer walking and literature distribution in these areas. Now, we are in need of volunteers to help create relationships with the Muslim people in Paris and minister to needs not currently being met.
Dates: May 15–24, 2009
Cost: Approximately $2,500 (includes airfare, hotel, and meals)
