How to become a Christ follower

Good news! God loves you and every person in the world. He loves us very much!

There’s bad news, too. Each person has sinned. We have done things God does not like. The Bible says: “Everyone has sinned. No one measures up to God’s glory” (Romans 3:23 NIrV).

But there’s more. Because God loves us so much, He sent His Son Jesus to earth. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He came back to life to show His power over death and sin.

The Bible says: “When you sin, the pay you get is death. But God gives you the gift of eternal life because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done” (Romans 6:23).

Becoming a Christ follower starts with telling God that you have sinned. Believe that Jesus died and came back to life to save you from your sins. Jesus is the only way we can be with God forever.

Thank God that Jesus takes away our sin. Turn away from sinning. Commit your life to Jesus. Ask God to help you do what He wants you to do.

The Bible says: “Say with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord.’ Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. Then you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

Christ followers try to follow God in everything they do. They ask God to help them love people like Jesus loves them. They live differently from other people because God is the most important thing in their lives.
