English is a great need in China. Children, students, and adults seek opportunities to learn and improve their English-speaking skills. However, not everyone has easy access to these opportunities. For example, those who are underprivileged may not have the chance to learn English.
Adult Teams are needed during the school year to work in migrant schools, which are primary schools in Nanjing for children of workers from rural areas who come to the city to look for jobs. The work would consist of giving underprivileged elementary school children opportunities to sing, play games, and to participate in English activities. All work is done in partnership with the Amity Foundation.
*Dates: May 20-31, 2010
- Collegiate team needed to interact and dialogue with Chinese English students in Nanjing, China. Some touring included.
- Approximate cost: $3000
*Dates: October 14-25, 2010
- Team members will work with students reinforcing Basic English concepts. No ESL required.
- Additional work will include dialoguing with college students on cultural issues. Some touring is included.
