Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer

What: For more than 50 years, Baptist women throughout the world have joyfully gathered on the first Monday of each November to commemorate the Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer.

That’s Not Fair: Focus on Fair Trade

Providing Water Filters for Missionaries

WMU®’s Pure Water, Pure LoveSM considers it a privilege to serve our missionaries in such a tangible wayproviding a clean water source. Here are just a few of the thank you notes we have received from missionaries.

Pure Water, Pure Love grants funds to Restoration of Life

Thanks to a grant from Pure Water, Pure LoveSM, two wells were drilled, and pumps and distribution pipes were installed for the Restoration of Life Center in Brazil.

Before the drilling of the wells, the only water sources available were city water which was hauled in 50 liters at a time, for drinking purposes. The water from the ponds was used for irrigation, but was lowering the ponds to dangerously low levels for the fish.

5.11.13

This month marks the beginning of a yearlong celebration of 125 years of faithful mission support and involvement through WMU®, but the work of WMU began long before the official organization was born. Women in the churches had been gathering for prayer, sharing missionary letters from overseas, and encouraging financial support for missions needs for many years.
