Blume Early Bird Registration Deadline Extended

Due to the devastating storms that ravaged the South this week, we are extending the deadline for early bird registration for Blume. The early bird registration fee will be in effect through May 15. This extended deadline applies to all participants, regardless of where they live.

Registration fee(s):
Early Bird Rate through April 30, 2011 May 15, 2011:
$299 per person if lodging inside the Blume Block*
$399 per person if lodging outside the Blume Block

Are you ready for Palm Sunday this next week? I have been looking forward to seeing the children parade in with their palm branches since last year. They always look so cute as they march down the aisle of the church and wave their branches in time to the first hymn. After the hymn, they leave their branches on the floor around the platform as they scurry back to their proud parents who warmly greet them.

Growing Season

Are you wondering when Spring will finally arrive? We have had colder (and wetter) than usual weather over the past couple of weeks. In fact, since March 21 (the first day of “Spring”), it has been miserable on most days. These cold, gray days make me wish for warmer and sunnier weather!

The Vine and the Branches

Spring is beginning to make its yearly appearance here in Birmingham, Alabama. The grass is greener, the leaves have begun to appear back on the trees, and the flowers are beginning to grow from the ground. I love spring. Everything seems new, healthy, and alive.

Jesus talked about spring, too, in John 15:1–17. Take a minute and read that passage of Scripture. We are going to focus in on verses 5–8:
