Who in his right mind would toss a bunch of perfectly good books? Books with lots of read and unread words. Books with thoughts and ideas that might help a person move forward. Books with new or deeper insights into the work of God in our lives. Books that reveal to us a world in need and the promptings we need on how to make a difference. Help needed. Don’t toss those books until every word is devoured.
A person’s name is often connected to their actions. Some names are obscure. Others have meaning and influence. The name Annie Armstrong has the latter. This time each year her name comes to mind because of its connection to the offering for North American missions.
Who was this woman whom we think we will never “pay off”? Born in Baltimore, Maryland, when our nation was only 74 years old, she learned early on from her mother and sister about missions.
