My Nurse, My Mama

From the age of seven, I witnessed her studying late nights and early mornings while still caring for our family of six. My mother and father married very young, and only my father had obtained a high school education and completed some college courses. My mother had not completed her education. After the birth of her fourth child, my younger brother, she was determined to obtain a nursing degree to make a better life for her and our family.
