(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) - Jan. 21, 2009 - National WMU's board meeting, Jan. 10-13 at Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center in Talladega, Ala., was full of fellowship and optimism as the organization remembered former leaders, heard from Southern Baptist mission board personnel, and looked toward WMU's initiatives for 2009.

Meet Molly—a brightly smiling little girl in red capri pants and a yellow shirt who will help preschoolers and children learn more about what happens on church missions trips as their travel representative. She is featured in Molly’s Adventures in Missions written by national WMU preschool consultant Joye Smith.

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) – March 20, 2009 – For many teens, life is all about them. Members of Acteens, however, know that life is to be about their relationship with God and actively sharing his love with others.

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) – March 20, 2009 – Leading with their tagline—Change a Life. Change the World.—this year's national WMU Missions Celebration will seek to show participants how they can play a part in literally changing the world through missions. The event will be at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., June 21–22, prior to the Southern Baptist Convention.

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala.) – March 23, 2009 – In partnership with several state WMU offices, national WMU will launch a new regional training event in April for preschool and children’s leaders called Domino.
These events are designed to inspire leaders and equip them to continue their work in preschool and children’s ministries.

With the struggling economy, needs across our country continue to grow as does the need for volunteers to minister and serve.

(Birmingham, Ala.) – April 13, 2009 – The WMU Foundation board of trustees awarded $163,445 to boost missions work in North America and around the world during their meeting, March 30–31, at the WMU Foundation office in Birmingham, Ala.
