Lack of access to education, health care, and basic resources means that for many, poverty is an endless generational cycle. Through the WMU compassion ministries of Christian Women’s Job Corps/Christian Men’s Job Corps; Pure Water, Pure Love; and WorldCrafts, you can help people end the cycle of poverty through living wages, access to clean water, and job skills training.

CHRISTIAN JOB CORPS

Christian Women’s Job Corps/ Christian Men’s Job Corps equip women and men, in a Christian context, for life and employment.

PURE WATER, PURE LOVE

Pure Water, Pure Love has a three-fold mission: to supply missionaries with water filters, to provide the people they serve with clean water resources, and to supply short-term teams with water filters for use on short-term mission trips.

WORLDCRAFTS

WorldCrafts develops sustainable, fair-trade businesses among impoverished people around the world.

POVERTY: THE CHURCH’S RESPONSE

This self-guided mini-course will teach you the Biblical basis for addressing poverty, how you can help alleviate poverty locally and globally, as well as equip you with resources for leading training conferences on poverty.

POVERTY: DIFFICULT TIMES

In this one-hour simulation, participants will live out real-life scenarios and choices on how to navigate life without adequate transportation, affordable child care, access to medical care, and enough food to feed their families. Participants will learn about poverty and have an opportunity to reflect on their experiences and learn how they can minister to those in poverty. This is an excellent activity for the month of October, when many churches focus on Global Hunger Relief.

This simulation will be available as a download in September 2020.
