Baptist Nursing Fellowship

Healthcare professionals have the unique skill set to imitate Jesus’ ministry in their lives. They can use their professions as platforms for sharing the gospel. Baptist Nursing Fellowship is designed to help health-care professionals utilize their talents to fulfill their desires to serve God alongside other people.

Purpose

Baptist Nursing Fellowship provides Christian professional fellowship; promotes continuing education and growth for members and nurse missionaries; and encourages nursing service evolving from a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.

Objectives

The objectives for accomplishing these purposes on a local, regional, national, and international basis are:

1. To empower members through studying the Bible, worshipping, witnessing, and sharing of Christian experiences.

2. To present and participate in planned nursing and health care programs in a variety of areas of interest to nurses based on assessed need of the members.

Personal Testimonies of BNF Nurses

Hear how BNF has changed the lives of nurses:

“As a former missionary nurse, I learned about BNF when I returned to the states. Georgia WMU asked me to serve as the camp nurse at a GA/Acteens camp, where I learned about and became a member of BNF. Georgia BNF taught me new ways to use my nursing skills and about the national BNF organization.

“As a Christian professional nurses organization, BNF has made an impact on the lives of many nurses, and I pray the future brings even greater possibilities for nurses to serve in missions at home and around the world!”
—Wanda S. Lee

"I am not sure how I first learned of BNF, but I became a member about 20 years ago. Since that time, I have participated in various ministries, including screenings of state fair workers, first-aid stations for events, several missions trips, and a blessing of the hands ceremony. I am thankful for the rich heritage and persistent pioneers of BNF. May the faithful legacy of love, compassion, and dedication of service in Jesus’ name live on until He comes!”

How BNF Supports Nurses

Baptist Nursing Fellowship focuses on ministering to health-care professionals by supporting them professionally, spiritually, and missionally. It purposes to develop in its members a missional lifestyle—one that combines the medical field with the missions field. BNF® accomplishes these goals by equipping health-care professionals, providing them with prayer support, supplying them with resources for ministry, connecting them with other professionals, and sending them across the country and around the world.

Equipping—BNF equips its members by offering continuing education units at annual meetings. It is working to provide online CEUs in the near future.

Praying—BNF encourages prayer among members by providing a prayer calendar based on members’ birthdays. Through social media and other electronic resources, it brings together members to pray for a specific focus. Prayers often focus specifically on nurses serving in full-time missions.
