Focus on WMU

Mission Friends may be the most energetic part of WMU! Preschoolers are lively, and they learn about missions in many creative ways. Highlight Mission Friends as part of Focus on WMU during the week of February 10-16, 2020. Choose 1 or 2 of these ideas to draw attention to your Mission Friends group.

  • Ask a parent to take photos of activities of your Mission Friends during January, and make a computer slide presentation showing different ways they learn about missions.
  • Display the slide show on a screen prior to worship during the week of Focus on WMU, place the slide show on your church’s website, or scrolling on a laptop in your preschool area.
  • Share about your Mission Friends with a myMISSION or Women on Mission group in your church.
  • Have a Show and Tell bulletin board to share Mission Friends’ artwork related to missions areas which preschoolers are learning about.
  • Write a paragraph for your church newsletter to highlight how your Mission Friends pray for missionaries.
  • Emphasize ways your Mission Friends group participates in activities such as Christmas in August.
  • Encourage other Mission Friends leaders with a note of thanks during the week.

Children’s Missions Day (CMD) is an exciting part of Focus on WMU. With the theme of Reach Out, work with the children’s missions groups of your church in reaching out to your community with God’s love. Involve older preschoolers in reaching out to others for CMD on Saturday, February 15, or choose the day that works best for your church. For more information, resources, or to report your CMD event, visit wmu.com/cmd
