Time to Celebrate!

With the end of the school year approaching, it is time to begin planning and organizing an annual recognition service.

Celebrate the year of learning, praying, giving, and going with a recognition service. This yearly celebration is a time to praise individuals for their participation in GA, RA, or CA, as well as their accomplishments of earning badges through GA Journey, RA Trek, or Missions Expedition. And it is also an opportunity to highlight the success of Girls in Action, Royal Ambassadors, or Children in Action as children’s programs in your church.

Here are ideas to help you plan a recognition service:

  1. The event can be a formal ceremony during a worship service, a banquet, or a picnic. Whether it is a time of family fun with games, fishing at a lake, or sharing a skit during a worship service, the setting can make the service exciting and memorable.
  2. The recognition is an opportunity to praise each GA, RA, or CA for his or her efforts and accomplishments. Verbally share why each child is important to the group and reinforce that he or she is important to God’s plan to share Jesus Christ with the world.
  3. The reflection allows children to share individually or as a collective presentation what has been meaningful to them during the year and why.
  4. The display is a visible look at the past year. Use a bulletin board, scrapbook, table, or slideshow to share photographs of the many ways the children have helped others, the lessons learned, the projects made, and all the fun that was shared together as Girls in Action, Royal Ambassadors, or Children in Action.

Consider planning a recognition service to highlight an exceptional year. It’s time to celebrate!
