Trust Him as You Reach out to Someone New

young woman reaching out

With summer here in full force, maybe it is a good time to ask, “How are you doing?”

If you are like me, then you are feeling a bit behind on keeping up with the details. Or maybe you have everything planned out and are able to enjoy time with people. Either way, it is comforting to know God is in control and He has a plan.

The summer may not go exactly how we have planned, but God is bigger than our plans. And He is always doing something new, something more than we have imagined, something with potentially eternal results both in our lives and the lives of those around us. How comforting. How exciting.

The Creator of the universe is taking charge of our days. Only He can hold all things together (Col. 1:17). And only He knows the future He has for us (Psalm 139:16). We are created in Christ Jesus to do good works that He planned in advance (Eph. 2:10). And He leads us every step of the way (Psalm 23). How good it is to trust our God.

What is God showing you this summer? Is He asking you to trust Him with something new?

I am excited about the idea of new opportunities and new relationships. The summer is a time when we can seek God in new ways. We can try some new things.

Are there new needs in your community? Is there something that has just now caught your attention? Is there a missions project or mission trip that you have just heard about? Have you met anyone new lately?

Trusting God sometimes means trusting Him to use us in new ways. In His strength, with His love, in His timing, what could happen if we reach out to someone new?

When I think of the sea of faces that surrounds us every day, the 2.3 billion Christians in the world today, and an awesome Creator Savior God Who can make all the connections work for our good and His glory, then I truly know that nothing is impossible. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Let’s trust Him today and reach out to someone new in Jesus’ name. It really can be the beginning of something amazing and eternal. To God be the glory!
