God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is a rock? Only our God. God is my strong refuge; he makes my way perfect.
(2 Samuel 22:31-33, CSB)

Slowly read these verses tucked away in 2 Samuel. They provide beautiful praise for our perfect God. His word is pure. We find refuge in him because He is our shield. The One Who strengthens us and keeps our way secure is our Rock. Amazing! Take a moment and take that all in.

Spend some time reading and meditating on verses 34–37. Have you ever seen a mountain sheep balance precariously in its surroundings? They seem completely at ease balancing on rugged terrain because it is in their DNA. They were created for this life. We may not be created to hang on the edge of a cliff with balance and ease, but God gives us the ability to stand on the heights.

What a glorious reminder of His care and provision. How great is our God!

Dear Father, please reveal Yourself today to our pastors and missionaries. Bring reminders throughout the day that You are their Shield, their Rock, their Refuge, and their Helper. Train their hands and strengthen them for the spiritual battles they are facing. Make a spacious path for their steps and guide them in Your perfect way. We love you, Father. Amen.
