DAY TWO - 30 days of prayer for pastors and missionaries.

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. He is always wrestling for you in his prayers, so that you can stand mature and fully assured in everything God wills.  (Col 4:12, CSB)

Epaphras founded the church at Colossae. His deep and abiding love for the church is confirmed by Paul’s words in Col. 4:12, “He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm.” The Colossians experienced trouble just as every believer today encounters trouble.

Epaphras understood that a believer could only stand firm in the power of God. This is as true for believers today as it was in Paul’s time.

Paul says Epaphras wrestled in prayer. This word also referred to contending for victory in the Roman games. There are prayers . . . And then there are wrestling prayers. Fighting prayers.

Today, missionaries and pastors around the world are wrestling for others in prayer as they witness the devastation of the coronavirus pandemic. Join us in wrestling for them in your prayers. Let’s all do some fighting on our knees today!

God, we pray today for pastors and missionaries who are praying wrestling prayers today. We pray for those they are loving in Your name. Enable them to stand firm in their faith and to overcome the challenges today brings. Give them the answers they need to help others overcome the challenges of the day. We give You the glory in advance for the victories you will bring!
