DAY THREE - 30 days of prayer for pastors and missionaries.

The Israelites set out whenever the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle throughout all the stages of their journey. If the cloud was not taken up, they did not set out until the day it was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and there was a fire inside the cloud by night, visible to the entire house of Israel throughout all the stages of their journey.
(Exodus 40:36-38)

God gave Moses a powerful set of instructions. Not one detail was overlooked, right down to the significance of both the cloud and the fire in demonstrating God’s faithful presence. Each element of nature fulfilled a critical role, not only in the scenery surrounding the tabernacle but also in confirming the glory of God within its walls.

How often do we miss God’s glory because we choose to disobey his instructions? How often do we deny God’s glory because of our pride and selfish desire to try and achieve something in our own strength or timing rather than submitting to the Holy Spirit’s power and ever-present help?

Father, thank you for giving us instructions and directives. Please open the eyes and hearts and minds of our pastors and missionaries so they may hear from You clearly. We ask You to strengthen them as they encourage others to follow You and to follow our earthly leaders, as in this season carrying out specific instructions can literally mean the difference in life and death for our families and communities. Father, give our pastors and missionaries the words and thoughts they need to show others the importance of self-discipline and self-sacrifice for the good of all. Let their speech and works bring glory to you. Amen.
