Christmas in August brings the gospel into Muslim homes in NY

Do you ever wonder if Christmas in August matters to missionaries and church planters? Just ask Pastor Rajan Shahi from Queens, NY. They were recipients of Christmas in August gifts in 2018.

Hello WMU,

Hope all is good. I want to update you about our work here in NYC.

If I'm not mistaken 2 years ago WMU decided to help our church here in Queens, NY with school supplies. Our goal was to reach small neighborhood of Elmhurst, Queens. Well, we underestimated God's power and plans. The boxes of supplies started to show at my door in July 2018 and didn't stop until October. Our supplies distribution date was September, but we received more boxes after the event.

On our 2018 distribution we reached out to over 200 children and many registered for our after school program. We still had over 30 boxes left so, we organized yesterday another event. This time we went to local park and distributed over 300 packs of supplies. Crowed was hard to control so we stopped the distribution and ask people to come to church on Sunday if they wanted to receive a supplies.

I want to thank WMU because it would have not been possible without your help. I appreciate every single church and little kids who prayed over these boxes before sending our ways. Each pack went out with NT and contact card. Gospel has entered into the house of Muslims, Hindus and Buddhist. Please pray that God will bring them back to church. It is not about how we going do things but excited to see what God's going to do next.

Thank you again.I've attached just few pic's and hope you will rejoice seeing them.

Blessing,
Pastor Rajan Shahi
